Windows File System: FSx Windows file server is fully managed file server backed by Windows native file system with features, performance & compatibility to lift & shift Windows application to cloud. FSx keeps Windows software up to date, detects & addresses hardware failures and perform backups along with integration with various AWS services. While creating file system, you specify storage capacity (GiB) and throughput capacity (MBps). You can access FSx file shares from your on-prem devices using AWS Direct Connect or AWS VPN.
FSx automatically encrypts file system & backup data at rest using AWS KMS. And data in transit is encrypted using SMB Kerberos session keys. From price & performance perspective it offers Solid State Drive (SSD) as well as Hard Disk Drive (HDD) type of storage.
